"I know that I will keep the experience with me forever": Elisheva, Fulbright Fellow, Jordan, 2016-17

Aug 14, 2019

As a Fulbrighter in Jordan over the past year, I have learned and grown so much!

First and foremost, Fulbright gave me the opportunity to successfully conduct a year-long ethnographic study about refugee education. This study will be the basis of my dissertation.

More than that, being in Jordan for a year allowed me to volunteer my time, support local communities, and contribute to a range of excellent organizations working to support refugees and vulnerable youth in Jordan. It also allowed me to improve my Arabic, learn Jordanian cooking, and gain a better understanding of life in this part of the world.

I am humbled by all the opportunities I had and by all the people who opened their hearts to me and made me feel welcome

I am humbled by all the opportunities I had and by all the people who opened their hearts to me and made me feel welcome. Although I am leaving Jordan in just a few days, I know that I will keep the experience with me forever.

Elisheva, Fulbright Fellow (2016-2017)
