US-UK Commissions Celebrates 70th Anniversary of the Treaty

The 22nd September 2018 marks 70 years to the day since the treaty establishing the US-UK Fulbright programme was signed.

UK Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin and US Chargé d'Affaires Don Bliss met at the Houses of Parliament to commit the US and the UK to the open-minded exchange of ideas, innovation and knowledge, overseen by Senator Fulbright.

Last week, Minister Sam Gyimah and Assistant Secretary Royce met in the same place the treaty was signed to celebrate the anniversary and announce their renewed commitment to the programme - pictured here with Senator Fulbright's granddaughter, Julia Le Stage.
